Roanoke Valley Driver Training School specializes in driver education for the teenage driver. We offer behind-the-wheel driver training. Behind the wheel driver training is taught twelve months a year.
BEHIND-THE-WHEEL
- Instruction is available 12 months a year.
- Behind-the-wheel includes 7 periods. Each period is 50 minutes of driving instruction and 50 minutes of observation.
- We pick up students at home or school in the Roanoke City/County area.
- Behind-the-wheel is taught after school and during school vacations and holidays.
- All instructors are experienced area school teachers.
Jay and Nancy Childress founded the Roanoke Valley Driver Training School in 1983.
Sadly, Nancy passed away in January, 2022. She was the co-owner and business manager for this school. She worked tirelessly to ensure that our clients received honest information and were treated with kindness and respect. She will be fondly remembered and forever missed.
We have two cars and two instructors serving the Roanoke area. We were the first commercial driver training school in the state of Virginia to contract behind-the-wheel with a public school system. We were contracted with Salem City Schools from 1992-2017. We enjoy teaching students from all area schools, including home schooled students. The one thing you can count on with us is our students receive quality instruction from experienced teachers!
